Truck goes future-proof! (Autofocus 9.3.2022)

On Wednesday, March 9, 2022, the magazine Autofocus showed the latest developments on low-emission drive systems for heavy-duty vehicles. A measurement of the particle count on a modern diesel truck, which was carried out on the premises of the Graz University of Technology by employees of the Emission Research Department of the ITnA, is presented. The results show that the exhaust gas after passing through a modern particulate filter is cleaner in terms of particulate matter than the ambient air in the "particulate matter metropolis" of Graz. In addition, a short outlook is given with regard to other propulsion technologies such as hydrogen, e-fuels or battery electric vehicles in freight transport.
